The first location is the woods in the neighborhood across the street from my house. These wood have been my place to sit in peace for a long time. I have been in them since I was a little child. The trees this time of year are completely silent with no color but during the summer are full of green leaves. I made sure that these trees were photographed because of their importance to me.
The next location is my house, more specifically the weed behind my house. During the winter all of the weeds turn brown and become boring. However with the sun shining through them, they become a gold color. They also cast cool shadows with the many individual rays. I though they were pretty cool pictures with intricate details.
THis next location is Lily Park, and the pond was completely frozen because it was 9 degrees. The transition from the ice the the snowy ground was minuscule but noticeable. These were hard to photoshop because they were so white that I didn't really know what to do with them, so I made them more gray. I think they didn't turn out as well as I wanted but I am fine with that because they are still interesting to look at. The picture with the vignette turned out much better than the other photo.
This next location is at a park in my neighborhood, looking up at the trees. I really liked taking these pictures because they were simple to do and easy to edit. One photo I made black and white and the other one has a slight vignette and a little bit of color. The park was the ideal location to take the pictures because it was full of nature.
The last location was a pond that is near my house. The pond was frozen, and the cat tails were dead with only a little bit of color. I edited the one photo to bring it more to life and add more color while the other was edited to have less color. The day of photographing was really cold was kind of a bland day so these photos aren't the greatest. However I like the way that the edits turned out and prefer them to the originals.
